How often do you try to teach context clues, but some of your students already know the new vocabulary word. These five lessons use nonsense words so that your students are forced to look at the other words in the sentence to determine what the nonsense word means. For example, “The flietr jumped from the lily pad into the water.” Students use the words “jumped” and “lily pad” to identify a “flietr” as a frog. And, just for fun, each nonsense word holds a secret message (“flyetr” sounds like “fly eater”). Ha! Enjoy! Take a look at the Preview to see sample pages.
