Description
In this passage, Hannah is sad because her best friend is moving away, but her spirits are lifted when Kate moves in next door.
This short fictional passage uses 6 silly words in place of common words within the text. It's purpose is to engage students and provide practice with using context clues to determine the meaning of each silly word. This resource includes two notes pages on the types of context clues, Old Friends and New story, a student recording page, a graphic organizer specific to the silly words passage, and a graphic organizer to use with any passage.
