Your students will read ten sentences related to December holidays. To answer the question, they will need to use context clues to decipher the meaning of a word.
I created this because I have found that not only my ELL's, but the vast majority of students at my school struggle with this type of question on multiple choice tests.
The underlined words include: trimmed, exquisite, illuminated, icon, honored, stirring, tarnished, dread, stunning, and enthralled.
This worksheet can be printed back-to-back. An answer key is included.
