Your students will read ten sentences related to Martin Luther King, Jr. To answer the question, they will need to use context clues to decipher the meaning of a word. Words include: prominent, transformed, assassinated, barred, commemorate, snarling, brutality, and crisis.
I created this because I have found that not only my ELL's, but the vast majority of students at my school struggle with this type of question on multiple choice tests.
This worksheet can be printed back-to-back. An answer key is included. There are nine items.
I have several more items related to context clues available in my store. (Just click on the links below to take a peek!)
