This digital resource includes 5 sets of context clues worksheets. Students will be introduced to five common types of context clues. In all, 51 practice items are included in this resource! It is compatible with Google Slides.
Worksheet #1: DEFINITION CLUES- Students read each item then highlight the definition that is provided for the underlined word.
Worksheet #2: SYNONYM CLUES- Students read each item and highlight the synonym that is provided for the underlined word.
Worksheet #3: ANTONYM CLUES- Students read each item and highlight the antonym that is provided for the underlined word. Then, they write the meaning of the underlined word in the text box.
Worksheet #4: INFERENCE CLUES- Students read each item and then use background knowledge to determine and write the meaning of the underlined word in the text box.
Worksheet #5: EXAMPLE CLUES- Students read each item and highlight the example that is provided that helps explain the underlined word. Then, they write the meaning of the underlined word in the text box.
Some of the word include: parched, patent, ailing, murky, forlorn, rapped, strict, and frugal.
