Product Description
Word choice can be tricky for kids, but it's imperative that they learn how to use clues in the text to figure out what words and phrases mean. Make that practice fun with this set of task cards filled with fun cartoons and compelling text. To change-up the task card experience, this is the third in my series of language arts skills that I have done in strips. It's a small change meant to engage students who have used one shape of task cards for some time.

This resource addresses the following Common Core Standards in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades:

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.3.4
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.4.4
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.5.4

===================================================

Task cards can be used in many different ways:

1. Centers and/or stations…since task cards can be done in any
order, they are easy to share.
2. In pairs or small groups
3. Whole class
a. Quick review before going home, or to specials
b. Teacher reads question, students write answers on white
board
c. Use as an assessment. Task cards don’t feel like a test, so
test phobic students are more relaxed.
4. Independent work at seats
5. Send home for homework as reinforcement for students
needing remediation
