Prepare your students for the new Common Core assessments, like PARCC and TNReady, with this product! This activity makes a perfect independent or small group center for students to practice using context clues in literature. Students will read an original piece of literature. Then, the students will choose the best definition of unfamiliar words used in the text as well as the text evidence that supports the selected meaning. The first activity is hands-on and can be completed independently or within a small group. The second activity, with a new text, is designed as an independent practice page or assessment.
