Travel Adventure Book: Amsterdam
Take your students on a trip somewhere new with this small book on Amsterdam. This informational text is a great link for students studying the seven continents. It gives students a chance to learn about a major city in Europe through text, pictures and maps.
The small book design is intended to excite students to read about somewhere new. It is not just an information sheet, it is a book with real photographs of the place they are learning about and chapters on different topics relating to that place. As a student said to me, "I like the little books better" (than informational sheets I had created).
All writing and pictures in the book are from my own travels to Amsterdam. After conducting pre tour research, traveling to the city and gathering more information from tours and experiences, I put it all together in a convenient small book format to share with young students. In the book, I have tried to highlight some of the more important topics I want students to know about the city.
Included in this small book are half page chapters on:
What Does the City Look Like?
Getting Around (Transportation)
Time to Eat (Food in Amsterdam)
What to See (Major sights and museums)
Building Tops (Gables- which links to a STEAM lesson found in my store)
Fun Outside the City (Zaanse Schans, Marken and Volendam)
This is a must have product if you teach about the seven continents or global studies to younger students. Not only does it give students more specific information about one of Europe's popular cities, it links to informational text reading skills as well.
Empower your students with the knowledge of another culture though this small book!
