This bundle is everything you need for Wegener's fossil, glacial, and mountain range evidence, seafloor mapping, seafloor spreading, subduction, the discovery of the earth's plates, layers of the earth, and convergent, divergent, and transform boundaries.

Both powerpoints - 87 slides in all - are editable and contain numerous interactive links and full-color images. There is a note catcher for the larger slideshow that allows students to organize their thinking and the task card set is 38 cards that reinforce the content in the powerpoint presentations.

Do you find your students turn off their brain and just copy when you use powerpoints? I've found the best way to combat this phenomenon is to have the main ideas come in one at a time. For that reason, you will find that my slides have simple, quick powerpoint "actions" so that each big idea comes up when you want it to, with a simple mouse click or tap on your interactive whiteboard. None of the actions are overpowering or distracting so your lesson presents itself in a way that students will focus on the content.

At the end of each powerpoint are review questions that you can use for formative assessment or even an exit ticket. There's even a jeopardy-style set of slides to add engagement to the end of the lesson!

NGSSHS-ESS2-1
Develop a model to illustrate how Earth’s internal and surface processes operate at different spatial and temporal scales to form continental and ocean-floor features. Emphasis is on how the appearance of land features (such as mountains, valleys, and plateaus) and sea-floor features (such as trenches, ridges, and seamounts) are a result of both constructive forces (such as volcanism, tectonic uplift, and orogeny) and destructive mechanisms (such as weathering, mass wasting, and coastal erosion). Assessment does not include memorization of the details of the formation of specific geographic features of Earth’s surface.
NGSSMS-ESS2-3
Analyze and interpret data on the distribution of fossils and rocks, continental shapes, and seafloor structures to provide evidence of the past plate motions. Examples of data include similarities of rock and fossil types on different continents, the shapes of the continents (including continental shelves), and the locations of ocean structures (such as ridges, fracture zones, and trenches). Paleomagnetic anomalies in oceanic and continental crust are not assessed.
