Scoot is a fun, fast-paced activity where students will travel around the classroom from card to complete the contractions. It's a wonderful activity to get students moving, while still practicing skills!
Put task cards in order around the classroom. Give each student a recording sheet. Students will start at different task cards and answer the problem on their task card, then writing the answer in the corresponding box on the recording sheet. When students are finished or one minute is up, the teacher will say, “Scoot!” and students will rotate to the next task card. They will continue to complete contractions and move around the room until they answer all of the questions.
This Scoot game has students write both forms of contractions (the actual contraction and then the words used). There are 24 task cards included.
