This activity is for kiddos to practice contractions. It’s perfect for spring! What an engaging way for kids to learn an important grammar skill!
• Have students write their chosen contraction on the umbrella.
• On each of the two raindrops, students should write one of the words in the contraction. E.g. For “can’t”, one raindrop would say ‘can’, the other would say “not.”
• Students color the umbrella and raindrops.
• OPTIONAL: Students cut out the umbrella and raindrops and glue to construction paper. You could even give them pieces of string to hang the raindrops from the umbrella!
