This file contains 5 sets of cards for “I have, who has?” Each set has 24 cards.
These games are designed to accompany a systematic approach to teaching phonics. The R-control vowels, or bossy r, is usually taught after vowel teams (/ai/ /ea/ etc).
Usually /ar/ is taught first, followed by /or/, then /ir/, /er/, and /ur/.
The “shark set” in this file introduces /ar/. The “seahorse set” reviews /ar/ and introduces /or/. The “turtle set” focuses on /ir/, /er/, and /ur/. The crab set and the fish set review all the bossy r letter combinations.
This makes a good sequel to my Wintry Long Vowel Games:
