Enclosed is 3 different levels of word sort for the spelling pattern er, ir, and ur. You can use this activity in a whole group setting or in small groups or even during literacy centers.
There are 2 different ways you can use this product.
1. You can copy the colored version onto cardstock, cut them out, and laminate them. This will make a great literacy center that students can use over and over again. Since it is laminated, students can use their whiteboard markers to fill in the missing letters or word.
2. In my classroom, I have my students practice reading the words in the box . Then they fill in the missing letters or word that match each picture. Once they complete it, they cut each word out and sort it on a construction paper and glue it on. This activity is great for English learners as well as struggling readers. I even made a challenge version, which do not have the word bank at the top. This was a good challenge for some of my advanced learners. I also included black and white versions that will be great for students to color after they finish.
