Educators want their students to develop higher order thinking skills such as creative and critical thinking. When we start teaching young students to understand and use divergent thinking, convergent thinking and productive thinking, we facilitate their using different perspectives, taking risks and thinking outside the box. Since young students are concrete learners, it is imperative to give them tools like these graphics to help them build toward the required abstract thought involved in creative problem solving.
Using these slides will prick your creativity as well. Challenge yourself to create graphics for helping the young learner to conceptualize abstract thinking.
