Description

How do you teach students the structure of conversation as well as how it varies? How do you teach them to take conversational turns - both making follow-up comments and asking follow-up questions?

This two-person structured graphic organizer gives your students the visual they need as they practice conversations. There are question options for you to select from, as well as greeting and good-bye pages, to make the activity as simple or complex as your student needs. The two-person format makes conversations easy to teach and give feedback on. I often start my sessions with this (once students have done it a few times, it can take two minutes). If I have a group of more than two than they take turns, and sometimes I will be a model partner. This has worked wonders for my students and I hope it does for yours too!

NOTE: The images in this activity correspond with those in my Sentence Strips and Pronoun Practice activities.
