This activity is designed for a small group of ELL students, but could be used in a small reading group or as a center. Students take turns in a group or with partners talking about where animals live and explaining features of those places. Sentence frames are included. Match cards together, use details to explain what they see – and you’ll have your ELL’s talking non-stop! A writing activity is also included as an “exit-slip” to see what students took away from their conversations.
