This is a great tool that may be used as poster or shrunk down to desk size. This visual aid reminds students to THINK ABOUT and TALK ABOUT the same topic as their teacher.
I have a laminated copy that I change as our topic of conversation changes or area of instruction changes.
For example, If we are working on multiplication, I will write multiplication inside the thought bubble. If my student goes off topic, I simply point to the thought bubble with "multiplication" written in it to remind him to stay on topic. It works beautifully during 1:1 situations such as with tutors, remediators or 1:1 teachers, with paraprofessionals. It also works well when it is enlarged and used as a poster for the entire class.
