Coversion Cover Up! is a fun, interactive game to help students learn/practice math measurement.
Based on teacher observation and data from the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness(STAAR) test, we saw a need to address the problems students are having with measurement. One of the main things students struggle with is conversions within the metric and customary systems. Conversions are assessed under Reporting Category 4 (Measurement). In order to help both students and teachers in this area, we have developed a way for students to practice making conversions that is fun and interactive.
Game 1 has simple math word problems for customary length measurement. Students read the problem and find the answer on a Bingo-style grid. Once all of the correct answers have been covered up with a counter, a mystery shape will appear. This game includes a conversion chart for metric and customary measurement (including length, capacity and volume, mass and weight, time). Also included are printables: Puzzle Grid, Word Problems template, Directions for Students, Answer Key and special directions and tips for the teacher. There are 20 puzzles total. This is by far one of most popular products. I use these on a regular basis when doing boot camps and academic sports camps with students.
