Do you dread teaching your students measurement? Can your students multiply and divide? Then this set of worksheets is for you. What you are purchasing is 5 worksheets (each is front & back) that build on each other to allow your students to get used to the idea of converting measurements in the customary system. I designed these worksheets to serve as mini-lessons to allow my students to practice multiplying and dividing while converting measurements simultaneously.
Day 1: Introduces inches, feet, yards, and miles and introduces how to convert between them. (Practice problems are included.)
Day 2: Allows more practice for students to convert between inches, feet, yards, and miles. This worksheets gives students the opportunity to write how they know when to multiply or divide when converting.
Day 3: Introduces perimeter and area and gives students opportunities to find the perimeter and area while still converting measurements. This worksheet allows more opportunities to explain what they know about perimeter and area.
Day 4: Introduces unit and square unit and gives visuals so students may differentiate between the two. This allows students to practice finding the perimeter and area of rectangles. This worksheet contains test prep questions.
Day 5: This worksheet is designed to assess what students have learned this week. It contains 13 vocabulary matching problems, 2 test prep problems, and a compare and contrast problem using a Venn diagram. This worksheet may also serve as a review instead of an assessment.
If you decide not to use these are mini-lessons, they may also be used as remediation or enrichment. I hope you find these helpful!
