This is part of a Physics Problem set BUNDLE available HERE
This is an uneditable pdf file of 8 unit conversion problems and answers.
In my class we always use meters/second for velocities, but students don't have a feel for HOW FAST that is.
The first set of 4 problems requires converting mph to m/s or m/s to mph. The speeds used are common for a car, a bullet, a lab cart, and walking.
The second set of 4 problems convert revolutions/time to m/s when given a radius or diameter.
This could be a homework or classroom assignment. I copy the answers on the back and provide it to students for optional extra practice.
- PAPER MISER version where a student would get an eighth sheet and work on separate paper
- regular version that a single sided page with room for work.
- regular version with color answers
If you need a LESSON to teach factor-label method for converting, consider checking out this: 1st Day of Chemistry or Physics
