Included in Cookie Math Games for Preschool is three different products.
1. Chocolate Chip Counting:
Students will add chocolate chips to the cookie until they have counted the correct amount listed below the cookie. To add a self-correcting aspect to the game add velcro to the back of chocolate chips and onto the cookie. Students won't be able to miss count!
2. Cookie Patterns:
Cookie Patterns comes with several different mats and cookies. One option gives students four cookie spots. From there they can create their own pattern without assistance or give them a mat with a pattern listed below! The second option gives students six cookie spots with either a blank mat or a mat with a listed pattern. Both mat options come with two types of cookies to make patterns with. One set of patterns can be made with cookies based on their icing and the other set has cubes on the cookies to build patterns.
My students build patterns on their mat and then take turns "stealing" one cookie from the other student's pattern. For example, Students A and B build a pattern. Student A closes their eyes while Student B steals a cookie. Student A opens their eyes and tells Student B which cookie they stole. Student B then takes a turn and students repeat using different patterns until time is up!
3. Who Stole the Cookie Shape Game:
Using the cookie jar found in the Cookie Pattern file students will take turns "stealing" a cookie from the cookie jar. The student who did not steal the cookie will guess which shape the other student stole.
For storage, I put a gallon baggie on the back of the cookie jar. Inside the cookie jar are smaller baggies with the various game pieces.
