What language skills are addressed via cooking?
-Vocabulary: Food labels (nouns), descriptive words (how did it taste, smell, look, etc.), action words (pour, bake, stir, etc.)
-Sequencing: What happened first, then, last?
-Recall/re-telling: What did you do? What happened when?
-Following directions with basic concepts: Put it in, pour it out, etc.
-Answering questions: Who poured the milk? How did it taste?
-Social skills: Taking turns, requesting a turn, sharing materials.
