Have a taste for some simple sentences? Let's get cookin'! This activity focuses on identification of complete vs. incomplete sentences, completing incomplete sentences, and simple sentence construction.
Complete vs. Incomplete Sentences: Students choose a card and read or listen to the card to determine if the sentence is complete or incomplete. If the student answers correctly and the sentence is incomplete, have them make it a complete sentence. Watch out for 'Delicious Cookie' and 'Burnt Cookie' cards.
* When students are done playing you can have them use the included worksheets to apply their knowledge of complete vs. incomplete sentences.
Simple Sentences with Speech Points: Speech Points are a concrete, multisensory method to teach sentence construction. Students follow the Speech Points in order to create sentences. Students must go through and touch each Speech Point as they input the indicated sentence component. As students say their sentences, have them write them on the provided worksheets.
