I taught this the day before we were going to cook scrambled eggs. I simply reviewed the recipe & the "big SAFETY ideas" the next day before cooking!
What's great is, I included a space for the students to indicate the required materials needed for a recipe (something that most recipes don't give you).
I also included short "comprehension response" sections after section of the reading. I would generally read this with the students, we would discuss our answers, and then the students would write (or get assistance with writing) their own answers!
