This is a fun interactive game for young learners working on numbers 1-10. The learner will assist Chef Bill by counting out the correct number of ingredients he needs to prepare food for a party. Once the ingredients are counted out, the learner fills in the menu with the correct numbers. At the end, a successful party scene is revealed to show the party guests enjoying the food.
The download contains 2 PDF files. The Game_File contains all the food and number cards, the game board, the food tokens, a shelf, a tray, 2 menu pages, and the before and after party scenes. Print & Cut, and you're ready to go. The Instructions tell you how to play, and suggest a few variations and tips (based on my experiences with the product).
The only materials that you need to supply, if desired, are a report cover/page protector and a dry erase marker for the menu. You may also want to use a temporary glue stick (i.e., post-it stick) to turn the food tokens into reusable stickers, but this isn't required.
In my experience, this activity is very effective in motivating young learners with imaginative play and interaction. Guidance during the activity is recommended at first, but it can also be completed as a solo activity or in pairs. Details are in the Instructions.
Have fun, and don't forget to share your feedback! Thanks!
