Cool Person in STEM Portrait Project & STEM Challenge (distance learning)

Learning the real life story of someone who has made a difference in STEM is inspiring, motivating, and shows what is possible when you set your mind on something :) Every successful person has overcome challenges along the way, and the lessons they learned in the process can connect and help students in their own life. Learning from the life experiences of others, both in terms of STEM and their personal lives, will put you on the fast track to your own successful future in STEM!

In this project students will choose a cool person in the field of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics and learn about their life in day one. In day two students will represent the life of this person by creating an ‘open mind’ portrait. In day three students will help their peers learn how to follow this person’s career path through a hands-on student-created STEM challenge. On the fourth day, students will lead the class in their hands-on career focused challenge activities!
