Cooperation and Friendship Skills are an important component of any guidance and PBIS program. It has been based upon two books, "The Night Before Valentine's Day" and "The Biggest Valentine Ever". There are links to the books being read aloud as well as a link to another video explaining the history of Valentine's Day.
I have created this lesson to discuss the components of friendship and cooperation that students need to master to be successful. Using discussion questions, videos, comprehension questions, and activities, you can lead students through the important parts of learning to be a good friend and learning how to work cooperatively with others.
This lesson has 15 slides and includes both animations and transitions to hold your students' interest. I am a firm believer in using media to get my message across to my kids.
I would schedule at least 30 to 45 minutes for this lesson, depending on activity or activities used. This is perfect to use with your elementary students to reinforce the concepts of cooperation and friendship.
