This is How we Do Group Work. Or Is it?????
Model what good group work looks like AND what it doesn't look like . . .
These are silly and serious skits that will help set the tone for your group work. The best part about this activity -- It's FUN!!!!!!!
Setting up classroom routines are vital to a smooth running classroom. Current ELA standards have a focus on students talking to each other, but students don't often know what good group work looks like.
This resource provides you with five group work scenarios that your students will act out in skit form. Three of the scenarios are "what not to do" and two are "what to do" during group work. The best part is the students will have fun.
Also included are discussion points that can be used after each scenario is performed.
I strive to provide complete activities from beginning to end. As with all my products, this one has an assessment piece. An exit ticket is included, so students can reflect on what they have learned.
There is a poster included in this product called Reminders for ALL Cooperative Groups. This can be used as poster in your classroom or can be copied and placed in areas where students may be completing group work.
I use this activity during the first few weeks of school when setting up classroom routines and procedures.
