This PowerPoint teaches students the different roles of Cooperative Learning. It starts out with a general definition of the roles, using football to show how the roles in the game compare to the members of the classroom community. This is a great way to start the year and teach students how to take control of their learning environment and be active participants in their education. Students will learn the responsibilities of each role as it pertains to whole group instruction and small group work.
I have students make a little book out of construction paper and lined paper (10 sheets of lined paper and two sheets of construction paper). They only copy the definition of each role and the notes for whole group in pencil, then add what is different in a small group setting using a colored pencil or pen. This way they don't have to write both settings of cooperative learning since they are so similar.
Check out my Cooperative Learning Test on TpT to reinforce the learning. Answer key included.
Closed-Notes for those who need note taking assistance is available for free on my TpT store as well.
