Mix up the way you randomly assign cooperative learning groups with this fun animal-themed card set. Simply deal out the cards, or have students draw a card from a container. They hold up their card and walk around to find others who have a matching card! My class loves the excitement of finding their group members this way! This is especially fun for little learners just starting out with group work or those classrooms that may be using Kagan structures.
The cards are intended to create small groups of four students to work together on any group activity or task that you select in just about any subject area. Because of differences in class sizes, options are provided for forming cooperative groups with five or three as well. There are seven sets of four cards and a few extras that say teacher's choice for a larger class.
Two versions are included. You may print the colored cards on white cardstock, or print the save my ink black and white version on bright cardstock or paper. Download the preview for a closer look at the cute clipart animals. You can name your groups by the animals represented:
