This is a fun class-builder and cooperative learning activity. It was simple for my beginning of year kindergartners to understand how to do after modeling. It seems like a lot of directions, but it's really not. Plus, the kids love getting up, moving around, high fiving, and learning about each other. Here is how you do it:
-Have all children get a crayon and clip board. They write their names on their own paper, but be sure to tell them that is the last time they write on their own paper.
-Children stand up and put their hand in the air. They high five someone near them and that person becomes their partner.
-They greet their partner and ask them if they like an item on the page (ex: ice cream or dogs). If the partner does like it, they put their initial on the other person's paper. If they do not like that thing, they name something they like instead. Both partners write on each other's papers.
-They say "Thank you" and shake hands.
-They put their hands up and find a new partner until each item has been completed on their paper.
I hope your kiddos enjoy it as much as mine did.
