This is an excellent activity to reinforce graphing ordered pairs and my students always enjoy this activity. Students love the idea of getting to play while they learn or practice what they've learned. This activity also forces students to use their math vocabulary because they can't look at each other's boards.
I created a laminated class set that I use over and over year after year allowing my students to mark the boards up with dry erase markers.
· Use file folders. Print the cover page for the outside and the 2 coordinate planes on the inside.
· Laminate the folders after attaching the pages with glue or tape.
· While students are playing, use paper clips or binder clips to hold the “boards” together in a way that the students can’t sneak a peek at their opponent’s board.
· Allow the students to use dry erase markers on the laminated “boards.”
