These coping cards are meant to help students identify their emotions, understand the intensity of their emotions, and provide them with options for effectively and appropriately managing their emotions.
Children are still growing and developing- their brains are unable to process emotions and how to manage them. So it is up to us to teach them. Teaching our students how to effectively and appropriately manage their emotions will give them the life-long tools they need for self-care and social-emotional learning and wellbeing.
There is no one way to manage emotions. Many of use multiple mechanisms. These cards give students healthy options for managing their emotions. The last page includes blank cards for you and your students to add your own coping strategies!
Print and cut out these coping cards. Laminate them if you wish. Punch a hole in the top corner and put them on a binder ring! Have these around the classroom for your students to use at any time!
