Description
Use these 40 coping strategies cards to teach and practice coping strategies for anxiety, anger, stress, depression, and other strong emotions while building skills for self-regulation. Cards are cut out and put on a ring for students to identify coping strategies to help in times of need.
Examples of coping strategies include: listening to music, using positive self-talk, taking a walk, breathing, counting to ten, reading, using a stress ball, hyperfocusing on an object, talking to an adult, and more. Blank cards are included to make your own individualized coping strategy cards, as needed.

How to Use
Cut out cards, laminate, and put on a ring. You may give to individual students to use on their own. Students can choose which cards and coping strategies best apply to them. In times of need, students should independently utilize their coping strategies key ring and choose an activity to help them de-escalate and calm down. Sets of cards can also be placed in the principal's office, in a special education room, in a calm down area, or at the nurse.
