Description
A fun way to get parents involved in teaching core language!
*This resource includes a homework page to send home for the following 30 target core words:
me, you, want, more, yes, no, bathroom, need, wow, help, here, again, my turn, go, stop, finished, good, bad, hi, goodbye, please, thank you, open, see, I'm ready, hurt, happy, sad, sick, I'm sorry
-Set up expectations for parents
-Parents are given a clear role and become familiar with the locations of core words by “requiring them” to practice with their child
-Can be used with a core communication board OR AAC device
-Guides parents with an exact way to provide fading prompts
-Further encourages parents to help their child generalize the word and try to use it functionally in different environments
-Children get “credit” for homework
-Just Print and Send home!
-Each page can be printed in color OR black and white. We have added gray to our "me" and "you" pages because the yellow does not print well in when switching to black and white print setting.
-This can be used alone or in addition to the “Core Cab” which is provided in our complete activity sets.

*Don't forget to use key strategies while teaching core language and developing AAC skills:
**Provide TIME for students to communicate! (it helps to count to 10 in your head) **RESPOND to spontaneous communication whenever it occurs!
**Provide AAC and VISUAL SUPPORTS for each activity!
**Use activities and materials that encourage ENGAGEMENT, INTERACTION and TURN-TAKING!
**Create COMMUNICATIVE OPPORTUNITIES throughout the day in as MANY situations as you can!
**MODEL those words!
