Here are some great and easy core vocabulary tasks you can use to reinforce your core vocab words. Tasks included:

These activities are intended to introduce the individual words on the boards to your students so they can learn how to use it. This is for students that have never had any exposure to the core vocab board.

Core Word Activities for: I, like, not, want
What Do It Do? Book
Do You Like It? Cards- print on cardstock and laminate. Cut apart. Have students point to I like or I don’t(not) like
That’s Not My Book
Core Word Activities for: help, it, want, different
Let’s Go Fishing! Print cards on cardstock and laminate. Cut apart. Place paper clips on fish. Place cards face down. Students use a magnetic wand to fish for two fish and identify if the two fish they catch are the same or different.
We Want to Book
Core Word Activities for: who, you, he, she
Who Has More? Book
Who Stole the Cookie from the Cookie Jar? Directions: print cards on cardstock and laminate. Place cookie jar on basket or bag. Cut apart cookies. Place a picture of your students on the cookies. Ask student, “Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar?”. Have students draw a cookie with the picture of a classmate on it and say he or she took it. Continue until no cookies are left.
Knock, Knock Who’s There? Print cards and door on cardstock and laminate. Cut apart cards. Cut door on red line. Glue a white piece of paper behind door or can place on board. Place a card in the door. Have students take turns coming up. You say knock, knock who’s there? Students use board to say he/ she is! You can also use pictures of your students instead of the ones provided.
