This literacy center lesson is designed to give students a chance to use their knowledge of punctuation and capitalization. There are several sentences that have special nouns (proper nouns) that need to be capitalized so you can see if your students have this skill and, if not, you’ll need to teach it. For the punctuation, all sentences end with a period except for one which ends in a question mark.
I am offering a series of nine lessons—one themed for each month—with five worksheets per lesson. You might do one as a whole class project to show students what you’d like them to do. Since there are five worksheets, you can do one with the students and then let them do one per week at a literacy center. As a bonus, students can draw and color different numbers of items. They love the drawing and coloring, and they get practice in counting. The nine themed months are September through May.
This is also excellent individual practice, homework, or a mini lesson in capitalization and punctuation.
But wait!! I have bundled all nine lessons and if you buy the bundle, you save money. The bundle is titled, “Bundled Lessons of Correct the Sentence” which is nine months of themed capitalization and punctuation practice.
