Let’s Count United States Coins and Bills:
Practice counting and writing numbers to 20 using United States coins called cents and bills called dollars. There are two sets – one set shows coins and one set shows bills. Each set includes 24 cards, a recording sheet, and an answer key. Or you can mix the cards for more variety, making your own answer key. (A blank one is included.)
Cards #1-12 work with numbers zero to ten and cards # 13-24 work with numbers eleven to twenty.
These cards are great for Scoot or to use in a math center.
How to Use:
Scoot: Spread all 24 cards out on students’ desks and give each student a recording sheet. The students scoot around the room, solving the cards and recording the answer on the corresponding box on the answer sheet.
Centers: Use one set or both in your math centers. Make copies of the recording sheets and set up the answer key for self-correcting.
Bonus pages included are:
Blank recording sheet and answer key
Activity / play money pages
Basic coin and bill counting pages
United States Coloring Page
Great activity for integrating with social studies, International Baccalaureate studies (IB PYP), and world economics/ foreign currency.
* Coins are set up in groups of five horizontally and bills are set up in groups of five vertically. Place cards in plastic protective sheets and have students estimate, make a tens frame, then verify their count.
