Description

Differentiating between countable and uncountable nouns can be difficult, especially for ELLs. This is a fun clothing-themed center activity that allows students to sort words into their correct categories: count nouns or non-count nouns. To prepare the center, first print out and laminate the word shirts (which include pictures to enhance vocabulary acquisition). Then place a basket, bag, or other container with all the shirts in the center along with two other “laundry baskets”. Label the extra baskets count and non-count (labels are provided for you to print and glue). Students can then sort the cards into the appropriate baskets. Tip: I print each set of shirts on a different color card stock, this allows students to share the same sorting baskets (less money) and makes it easy for me to separate the shirts back into individual sets. There is also a recording sheet and answer key provided for your use.

A digital version is available for distance learning. A paper+digital bundle is also available.
