In this activity, students will draw a number between 1 and 100, and then skip count to 100 (or 120 if you would like). A recording sheet is included as an option for students to record numbers on. This activity offers several options for differentiation by challenging kids to count by more than just 1s and 10s. There are also ten frames and a hundreds chart for students who will need concrete help with counting.
K.5 Algebraic reasoning. The student applies mathematical process standards to identify the pattern in the number word list. The student is expected to recite numbers up to at least 100 by ones and tens beginning with any given number.
1.5(A) recite numbers forward and backward from any given number between 1 and 120
1.5(B) skip count by twos, fives, and tens to determine the total number of objects up to 120 in a set
