hanks for having a look at my resources!
This is one of my many daily math warm-ups I use in my classroom.
It has four different levels ranging from:
- numbers 1- 15
- mixed two digit numbers
- mixed three digit numbers
- a challenge section.
This PowerPoint provides examples and shows mental strategies used to count on three.
My children love this warm up because they think it is a game. Some times the whole class answers the missing part or I choose a side of the room/gender to answer the questions. Even when we moved on from count on PowerPoint they were still asking to play this 'game'.
I follow Anita Archers Explicit teaching model for verbal choral answers:I put up my hands to indicate silence and thinking time. Students are looking at the IWB. They read the slide and think about the answer.I lower my hands as I say the sum that was on the IWB.”
If you like this I have a range of count on and rainbow fact PowerPoints. I will also be uploading count back PowerPoint in the coming week! All fonts are in Qld Beginners Font
