Product Description
Owls: Count The Room, Numerals, Ten Frames, and Tally Marks
Count the Room, Memory, and HOOT! Everything can be differentiated to meet your students' needs!

This set of owl themed centers, games and printables is designed to help students master counting, number identification, and the concept of more/less. It is appropriate for preschool, kindergarten, first grade, homeschool, and special education instruction. The games and centers are designed for getting students to interact and move about the room. Students can learn while having fun!

Count the Room
Students will walk around the room and find the cards with owl themed objects on them. Students will identify the letter in the upper left corner and record the numeral, ten frame, or tally marks that match the number. There are 3 different recording sheets for 0-10 and 10-20. Students will identify the letter in the upper left corner and count the objects.
#1– Numerals- Students will record the matching numeral on the extension worksheet.
#2– Ten Frames- Students will record the matching number of circles on the ten frame(s).
#3– Tally Marks- Students will record the matching number of tally marks in the box.
This activity is great for getting the students up and moving around the room. Kids love it and it helps students practice necessary skills.
You can have multiple children doing the same activity, but working on different skills. It is very easy to differentiate!

Students will play memory to match two types of numbers. You can choose any two types of the cards to work on. You can also print two copies of either set. Students can then match the same cards. The cards include:
- Numerals
- Object cards for subitizing
Mix and match, depending on what skill you would like to work on. I usually use 10 cards of each type. This way there is only 20 cards for the students to work with. Include more or less cards, depending on the needs of your students.
You can add an extension activity to the center.
Students will draw circles to make the ten frame match the numeral, or students will draw tally marks to match the numeral.

Students will play HOOT! HOOT is “War” with a owl themed name. Students will play this the same way as the traditional War.
Students will play as partners.
Students will mix the cards and deal them equally between the partners.
Students will flip over a card simultaneously. They will look at the two cards and determine which is the larger number. The partner with the larger number gets to take the card.
If they are a match, each player will put four cards down for HOOT! Students can look at the poster for HOOT! to say the four letters, as they lay down the 4 cards.
Flip the fifth card over. The largest number wins!
