Count the first 100 days of school with Zero the Hero!
Use these activities to teach your children about the number zero, counting by ones to 100, and counting by tens! Beginning on the first day of school, we count the number of days until the 100th day of school. On every 10th day, Zero comes for a visit because he loves the number 0!
How do I use this book in my classroom?
This set includes ideas for using a puppet or stuffed animal as your "Zero the Hero." The pages can be made into a book for each student to work on every 10 days or use them as individual projects that look adorable on a bulletin board!
Your students can create their own copy of this book! Included are all the reproducible blackline masters, full directions, and a color photo page showing the completed pages of the book.
The children create Zero using the collage technique. The students follow directions to create the illustration out of construction paper. Included are the complete cutting directions for making circles and ovals from squares and rectangles by trimming off the corners. All you do is cut squares and rectangles on your paper cutter and the numbers on the Ellison die cut machine for the pages. The rest is up to the children! Very little teacher time for prepping and no patterns or tracers to create!
