”Counting Coins” A Number Words Emergent Reader and Response Activities
Reinforce sight words, number words to 5, beginning, middle, and end, and writing a prediction with this fun and engaging emergent reader! My "Counting Coins" mini book features predictable text and practices the sight words now, little, put, the, in, his, have, said, on, as well as number words one - five. Students will follow little leprechaun, as he collects gold coins for his pot. Once he has five, he is off to hide them. I have included 4 response activities. In the first response activity, students will read sentences and draw the correct number of coins in the pot to match each sentence. In the second, students will draw pictures showing the beginning, middle, and end, and write sentences to match. In the third, students will predict where leprechaun will hide his gold. They will draw a picture and write a sentence to match. Last, they will draw and write where they would hide a pot of gold.
