In this Counting Coins Game students find different coin combinations to make 10¢, 15¢, 25¢, 30¢, and 50¢. Using the one of the Make 25¢ game boards, players find a way to make 25 cents, and then cover the coins with poms or chips. Students will begin to use strategy as they play this game: they will need to think about the combinations they make and how many poms they will have to place on the board. They will find that it is an advantage to go first on some boards on not on others. This game has several levels of play, which makes it easy to differentiate math centers.
