Identifying and counting money up to $5.00 is a great skill that all students need to learn and practice. These task cards help students do just that. The 24 cards present different amounts of money, shown with U.S. coins and dollar bills. Students are asked to identify how many of each coin or bill is shown and to figure out the total amount. This information is recorded on the student answer sheet.
Task cards can be used for a number of different activities including whole group activities, math centers, games, and math remediation with small groups.
The QR code on each card can be used to have the student check their work. Using a QR code reader on an iPad or other device (most are available for free for the respective app stores), students scan the code and receive instant feedback on their answers. Please note: the cards CAN still be used without utilizing the QR code.
Included with the task cards is a student recording sheet and answer key. This allows the activity to be used as a summative or formative assessment.
An excellent complement to this activity is Counting Coins - 24 Task Cards with QR Codes
