These worksheets are to be used in conjunction with a counting jar. I have several counting jars in my classroom and I change the items and amounts in them often. Once the class has done a counting jar together, the students can then do them independently.
The first worksheet is the one I use at the beginning of the school year and then I use the second one after those mathematics concepts have been introduced.
The students count the items in a jar to get their "Magic Number." Once they know their "Magic Number," they complete the rest of the worksheet using that number. These are a great way to review concepts that have been taught.
