PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This activity is an entertaining and creative way for students to practice counting money while reinforcing vocabulary! Simply have students write their spelling words, then use the alphabet chart to figure how much each word is worth. This activity is aligned with the following 1st and 2nd grade Common Core Math and English Language Art Standards and can be adjusted for other grades. It can also be used in other subjects, as homework assignments and center activities.

Common Core Standards:
CCSS.Math.Content.2.MD.C.8
Solve word problems involving dollar bills, quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies, using $ and ¢ symbols appropriately.

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.1.2e
Spell untaught words phonetically, drawing on phonemic awareness and spelling conventions.
