Differentiated worksheet bundle to help students count coins. This worksheet bundle focuses on counting nickels and dimes. Use of real coin pictures on the worksheets helps students make real life connections and carry the skill over in the real world. Tracing answers and/or guided examples included on each worksheet. Also great to work on IEP goals involving money within Special Education.
This bundle includes worksheets on:
-Skip counting by 5's to count nickels (2 differentiated versions)
-Counting nickels to find a total amount of money
-Skip counting by 10's to count dimes (3 differentiated versions)
-Counting dimes to find a total amount of money
-Shopping with nickels worksheet (coloring the correct amount of nickels needed for an item based on price)
-Shopping with dimes worksheet (coloring the correct amount of dimes needed for an item based on price)
-Counting mixed coins (nickels and dimes) to find a total amount of money
Skip counting by the coin's value familiarizes the students with how to count each coin. Once they master this skill, they can move on to counting a group of the same coin (either nickels or dimes). Once the students have this skill down they can learn to skip count separately by each coin and then add the sums together to find a total amount of money. This is not only part of the common core curriculum, but it is an important life skill that students need to know. Hopefully this helps your students become masters at counting money!
