The student rolls two dice to find out what two amounts they will add together. The biggest amount goes into the first circle to encourage the effecient adding strategy of 'counting on' from the biggest number. The student circles the biggest number on the number line and then 'bunny hops' the smaller amount along the number line to find out what the two amounts make. They then record the answer in the box. You may wish to laminate this template and use a whiteboard marker to record so it can be used many times.
